How do I work ?
My studies have made me a workshop graphic designer. That is, one who does not use a computer for work but a traditional workshop. I specialized in intaglio printing where the matrix is a metal plate. I made graphic matrices based on previously prepared projects. These projects are hundreds of works drawn and painted on paper using various tools: pens, ink and pen or stick, watercolors and other water-based paints, as well as photographs and collage.
Designing as I see it is more like cooking than simply drawing or painting. From a pool of cooked designs, I would select a series for implementation. Then, I matched the designs with the appropriate means of expression so that they would find their facsimile in graphics. I used etching, aquatint, soft varnish, dry needle….
Recently, I mainly draw on paper and create paintings on canvas. In the works I combine different techniques depending on the needs of the overall compositional premise, which is the project discussed earlier. As a result, it is not always pure genre painting, drawing, photography or graphic design. I don’t need a division into techniques in their purist view.
They serve a subservient function in my work to the form of the image and the form in the image.
I continue to work on the basis of projects, for which I look for the most appropriate means of implementation. Invariably, the starting point and basic subject of my work are phenomena observed in nature.
What attracts me most in my field is the complete freedom of choice and the fact that the decisions made in this field remain harmless to the environment. An unsuccessful painting can be discarded without regret.
